Take me to the mountains

After a month in Winnipeg, we felt the need to get a bit of elevation and took an opportunity to head to Banff National Park in Alberta. Heading to the mountains in early October, what could be better? Besides an unexpectedly large amount of snow and low clouds during more than half the trip, our trip to Banff was just the breath of fresh air that we needed. With bear spray in hand and an SUV to sleep in at night, we made the best of non-ideal weather in this beautiful mountain setting, taking advantage of each and every peek of the peaks that the weather allowed. This is place I hope to return to one day to do some real hiking. But until then, I'll leave you with some pictures from our trip.
